First Look At Sweet Tooth And John Doe In Peacock's Twisted Metal
‘Twisted Metal’ is revving its engine and getting set for its live-action Peacock debut at the end of July. Almost 28 years ago, the world was introduced to the first ‘Twisted Metal’ for PlayStation. For years players picked a variety of insane vehicles to try and take each other out.
We are a little under two months away from the release of ‘Twisted Metal’, so Peacock has released a sneak preview of what we could expect and some images. You can check it out below!
The ‘Twisted Metal’ clip is fun. It features Anthony Mackie's John Doe and the fan-favorite Sweet Tooth who is voiced by Will Arnett and performed by Soe Seanoa aka wrestler Samoa Joe.
I liked the post-apocalyptic look of the show but still keeping a bright color palate. It helps that the scene takes place in Las Vegas and that Sweet Tooth's mask is fairly bright. It was interesting to me that it would be two characters that they would want to showcase first, but maybe there is still a little more work to be done in post-production.
"This is a bonkers show about insiders and outsiders, and how our own special apocalypse has divided and isolated us more than ever. But there's hope. You can find your people and your community. You may just have to get past a terrifying clown driving a well-armed ice cream truck to find them," said Michael Jonathan Smith who serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.
Here is the synopsis for ‘Twisted Metal’ provided by Peacock
TWISTED METAL, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
The drivers arrive on Peacock on July 27 exclusively on their streaming service.
