Houston Gamblers snag former CU Buffs TE Brady Russell in USFL draft
The USFL held its 2023 college draft on Tuesday and with the 58th overall pick, the Houston Gamblers selected former Colorado Buffaloes tight end Brady Russell.
Russell battled injuries and didn't have much success in his final year in Boulder, although winning one game and having several different quarterbacks and two head coaches certainly didn't help Russell either.
However, Russell did catch a few eyes during the NFLPA Bowl, and that could be something to watch with the NFL draft coming up in a couple of months.
For now, Russell is headed to the Gamblers and will have a chance to showcase his skills more.
Former Appalachian State QB Chase Brice was selected by the Gamlers third overall, so he will likely be throwing passes to Russell unless a veteran gets the job.

Week 1 of the 2023 USFL season doesn't start until mid-April, so Russell has some time to get acclimated with his team and improve his skills before then.
